Abstract:
This sharing session will concisely explain the Building Information Modelling in NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract. It will cover the Secondary Option Clause Option X10: Information modelling and other contractual issues related to BIM. Gordon will also cover the concept of Common Data Environment, some aspects of BS EN ISO 19650-2 and some tips of good BIM management in the context of NEC. The length of the sharing will be around 1.5 hours with 15 minutes Q&A session (inclusive).
Speakers' Biography:
Currently working as an Associate Director and a contract expert in JCP Consultancy International Limited, Gordon has experience across multiple infrastructure projects involving both NEC and traditional contracts such as General Conditions of Contract of Hong Kong SAR Government and Conditions of Contract in the private sector. Started off as a construction engineer for railway projects in Hong Kong, Gordon specialises in contract and procurement management in NEC. He has worked in both the private sector and the Hong Kong government as an engineering contract advisor. He has frequent and regular dialogues with policy makers, engineers, quantity surveyors, BIM experts, software developers and expert witnesses. Gordon is a legally trained chartered Civil Engineer, an accredited NEC Project Manager, an accredited mediator, an accredited adjudicator, and a trained negotiator with hands-on negotiation experience in the engineering industry.
