The Construction Industry Council (CIC) has been organising the CIC BIM Competition annually since 2019, providing an excellent platform for the younger generation to enhance their knowledge and skills in BIM and showcase their talent. The competition aims to promote the practical use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) through a collaborative and competitive learning approach among tertiary students in construction-related disciplines. Now in its seventh year, "CIC BIM Competition 2025" aims to challenge participants' creativity and innovation in of existing building of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction - Tai Po Training Ground into a NextGen Construction Centre. The competition is open to full-time higher education (post-secondary) students and part-time students pursuing top-up degrees. Teams must be formed with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 members from at least 2 construction disciplines.

The competition comprised two rounds. Participating teams were required to submit conceptual proposals on designing the CIC Innovation Academy based on project design requirements in the first round. A panel of BIM experts then selected 10 teams from among the submissions to advance to the second round. Shortlisted teams had 12 hours to modify their first-round works according to newly announced requirements on the day and present their final works to the judging panel the following day.
