After the launch of the Certification of BIM Managers (CCBM) and Certification of BIM Coordinators (CCBC) under the CIC BIM Certification and Accreditation Schemes (the Schemes) in 2019 and 2020 respectively, the Construction Industry Council (CIC) has certified 668 CCBMs and 812 CCBCs as of 31 May 2024. There are currently 306 CIC-Certified BIM Coordinator (Associate), CCBC(A), registered under the Schemes. Interested BIM practitioners are highly encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible as the application deadline of CCBC(A) will be expired by 21 March 2025. Smart Site Safety System (SSSS) can uplift the site safety performance through early identification of potentially dangerous incidents or dangers and taking immediate follow-up mitigation actions. In addition, by analysing the data collected by SSSS, the crux of the safety problems could be revealed for formulating enhancement measures. “Reference Material of BIM Harmonisation for Digital Hong Kong” aims to identify appropriate additional information requirements of BIM models for reference by the industry, and in support of Government’s initiative of developing Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI) and Smart City and to satisfy the use cases identified in the Report on 3D Spatial and BIM Data Use Case Requirements of the Hong Kong Construction Industry published by the CIC in 2021.
