Housing Authority’s Odyssey in Capitalizing BIM - Scaling a New Height in Integrating Designs with Revit Models (只提供英文版)

HA develops and implements a public housing programme which spans all development stages from planning to design, construction, facility operation and maintenance. Among the prevailing IT systems that are currently used in the construction industry, BIM is the most versatile tool that enhances the efficiency of information exchange, and in particular connects the intelligence of different disciplines to the project. Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (只提供英文版)

Located on a 130-hectare reclaimed island, the Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities (HKBCF) will serve as a strategic multi-modal transportation hub in western Hong Kong and provide clearance services for vehicles and passengers entering and leaving Hong Kong via the new 50-kilometer Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge. Leighton Asia in joint venture with Chun Wo Building Construction (LeightonJV) was responsible for construction of the 40,000-square-meter passenger clearance building and associated works. To complete the USD 4.6 billion project consisting of a wide range of infrastructure and buildings in a timely and cost-effective manner, the multi-discipline team integrated BIM technology to streamline workflows and identify potential engineering clashes. Water Treatment Works Expansion Fast-tracked with BIM (只提供英文版)

3D model helps design and build Hong Kong’s largest on-site chlorine generation plant In 2013, Hong Kong’s Water Supplies Department (WSD) has launched a project to expand Tai Po Water Treatment Works, which will supply 30% of the fresh water supply to Tai Po, West and Central Kowloon, and Central and Western Districts of Hong Kong Island. The plant uses chlorine for disinfection of drinking water. The treated water meets the Guidelines for Drinkingwater Quality recommended by the World Health Organisation. Since there are no chlorine gas suppliers in Hong Kong, WSD has been importing liquid chlorine from Guangdong Province, which is transported to the water treatment works for storage and use. Something easy to see when living in a big dense city like Hong Kong, but being a global problem (accepted or not) that we all suffer. Maybe is the sad human nature, that only make us react when it affects us individually?. When you feel it on your own feet at the beach, when you see it in a hike, when you get it in your lungs on a morning run, or just while walking to work on your daily basis… yes, is “Waste”...... Unique Cable Tunnel Design Helps Power Kai Tak (只提供英文版)

The Government of Hong Kong is set to redevelop the former airport area at Kai Tak, in eastern Kowloon, and CLP Power is preparing to supply electricity to the area, through building the Kai Tak Cable Tunnel which will connect to five new substations in the area. “In future, this cable tunnel will minimise the need for future road opening works during the power supply connection,” says Ir Anthony Ip Wai-leung, Senior Project Engineer, CLP Power. “Plus, it’s an innovative way of leaving a strip of land around a kilometre long for other community development.” (Directed from Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards 2017: https://damassets.autodesk.net/content/dam/autodesk/www/campaigns/hk-bim-awards-site-project/2017/Award_Winners_CLP.pdf)
